29. strange fruits
8 extrodinary women (Scorpiana X, Sima Lee, Ms. Pheonix, Yesika Starr, Controverse, Imani, Krislo, Bruja) who came together to stomp out all myths about sisterhood, contributing extroadinary works to the urban tradition of literature and art period.

Strange Fruit was introduced in the year 1937 by a teacher named Abel Meeropol, the poem was created to shed light on the American lynchings that spread through the southern regions like wildfire. Later the poem was made into a song, sang by our lovely Billie Holliday. The song spread awareness about our own holocaust, the Black Holocaust. She sang:
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze,
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.

Today in sheer respect and rememberance of those who suffered, the visionaries who went against the grain of a blatantly racist and hateful time, emerges Strange Fruits. A non profit organization catering to female youth, ages 8-18, dedicated to providing an alternative to the negativity in the streets and through media, by providing a positive alternative of self expression through The Arts, Poetry, (Creative Writing), and HipHop and by offering workshops, counseling, open dialect, AND SISTERHOOD to ensure that needs are met and questions are answered.

30. desperado
outlaw. Current literature indicates that desperado is derived from the spanish term desesperado which means a person with no hope. The term comes from esperanza which means hope. Adding “des” to the front makes it an antonym. Changing the ending “anza” to “ado” makes it an adjective and desesperado means a person with no hope. While this may be logical, it intuitively does not seem to fit well. I sounds like an Ivy league researcher explanation. I spoke with Native American oral historian and their oral history says that the term evolved in this fashion:

Spain created the Camino Real from Mexico to Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 1598. Camino Real literally means “Royal Road”. As such the road is protected by garrisons at intervals along the road. Spanish law levied a toll to travelers on the Camino Real in order to pay for these soldiers. The soldiers would stop the travelers and demand the toll be paid for them to continue on. In spanish “to stop” is “parar”. And as above “desparado” is a person that was not stopped. According to their oral history, the term desparado, described travelers that did not want to pay a toll and circled, off the road, around the military posts. The term became associated with “scofflaws”, people that openly disrespect the law. When the Americans immigrated into the area they modified the language of the region to suite. Words like “la reata” in Spanish became “lariat” and desparado became desperado. To me this explanation makes a bette...

31. Severna Park
SEVERNA PARK, located centrally within Anne Arundel County, is made up of miles of shoreline of the Chesapeake Bay, Severn River, and Magothy River. The tree lined shore not only furnishes a private feeling to water front living within many well maintained residential communities, but also provides an exquisite setting for sailing, fishing, crabbing, boating and for recreational water sports. Local business thrives within this well established community, which offers residents close-to-home shopping. And with its close proximity to some of the nation’s hottest cities, thirty minutes from D.C., twenty minutes from Baltimore and fifteen from Annapolis, Severna Park is a sought after suburban place of residence.
SP is home to about thirty-five thousand people and ten thousand households, half of which of have children. As a resident of Severna Park myself, I can offer up my own insight on the typical lifestyle of a child containing home here in the Park.

Unarguably, the most outstanding aspect of Severna Park residents (Parkies) is their ability to excel at all aspects of life. This is most likely attributed to an inbred need to ‘keep up with the Jones’.” These citizens are known throughout Maryland for their ability to both work extremely hard, at least for nine months out of the year, and party just as hard.
Parents maintain uncommonly demanding lives. Fathers spend most of their time at work acting as the bred winners of the household. And they tend to do well. The ...

33. Blender Magazine
Blender Magazine

(1) a magazine in a blender

(2) The Leaders of Decling and Idiocy Literature.

(3) The worst magazine you can read. If you follow, believe, agree, and read Blender, do not hope that you will become successful.

(4) Stupid literature

Blender Magazine is one of the worst magazines. They show their stupidty by placing top 100 best and worst. Sometimes from the best and worst bands to who pees the best/worst.

Blender has attacked some greats, good, and ok bands as being worst the bands or worst lyricist. They named the legendary group The Doors as one of the worst bands and Jim Morrison as one of the worst writers. They used an example of "Ramble On" by the Led Zeppelin as horrible writing. However, Blender Magazine has named the horrible "Black Parade" album as the best and puts stupid people like Avril Lavigne on the magazine covers. How can you say those bands are the worst if they are clearly idiots and avoided saying bands Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, All American Rejects, 30 Seconds to Mars were one of the worst. That is an example of how bad and avoidable this magazine should.

The people at Blender Magazine deserve a 1000 deaths and tortures. These deaths
ICP: They call us the worst so that's why most of the guys at Blender have a hachet through their head.
