Call me Ishmael. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen and regulating the circulation. Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's hats off- then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can. This is my substitute for pistol and ball. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to the ship. There is nothing surprising in this. If they but knew it, almost all men in their degree, some time or other, cherish very nearly the same feelings towards the ocean with me.

There now is your insular city of the Manhattoes, belted round by wharves as Indian isles by coral reefs- commerce surrounds it with her surf. Right and left, the streets take you waterward. Its extreme downtown is the battery, where that noble mole is washed by waves, and cooled by breezes, which a few hours previous were out of sight of land. Look at the crowds of water-gazers t... |

| 44. | --X-Wing Starfighter-- | ||
|
The Incom T-65 X-wing starfighter has become a symbol of the Rebellion's starfighter corps. Pressed into service time and again, the typical Alliance X-wing shows the scars from previous engagements, though the fact that it still performs as an advanced vessel of space superiority is indication of the ruggedness of the craft.
The sleek fuselage of the X-wing starfighter is 12.5 meters long. The long, narrow spaceframe is flanked in the aft quarter by four massive realspace engines. Each engine has an aerodynamic S-foil mounted on it. The wings not only serve as stabilizer surfaces in air travel, but also distribute deflector shield energy and serve as weapons mounts. The surface of each S-foil bears squadron and fighter markings. Located midway through the ship is the X-wing's cockpit module. Behind the X-wing's cockpit is an astromech socket. The astromech droid provides astrogation data for the fighter's hyperdrives, and serves as a co-pilot and technician during flight. Three landing gears extend when the fighter is docked. |

Quite simple; mind + boggle = mind-boggling.
Originating from Douglas Adams book: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy says that if you hold a lungful of air you can survive in the total vacuum of space for about thirty seconds. However, it does go on to say that what with space being the mind-boggling size it is the chances of getting picked up by another ship within those thirty seconds are two to the power of two hundred and seventy-six thousand, seven hundred and nine to one against."

In 2199, the Earth is under severe attack by the forces of the planet Gamilon. Earth's space fleets are outnumbered, outmatched and outgunned. In the first episode, the audience is shown the last battle of the remains of the earth fleet and the destruction of all ships, save one that limps home. Planet bombs (asteroidial chunks of rock with nuclear warheads inside, apparently launched by mass driver) have reduced the Earth's surface to a radioactive wasteland. The seas have been boiled away, and humanity lives cowering in underground cities. (The term geo front was not in use at the time, but the underground cities are perfect examples.) But even this reqoubt is crumbling. Radiation is seeping downward into the Earth, and the Underground cities will become as irradiated as the surface in approximately a year's time. Humanity seems doomed. A mysterious message capsule from the Queen Stasha (Queen Starsha in the English adaptation) gives earth a ray of hope. There is a device on her home planet called the Cosmo Cleaner D (Cosmo DNA) which can completely restore Earth. But she cannot send it herself. Earthmen will have to come an... |

Codename for 1996 movie about aliens invading Earth, Starring Jeff Goldblum (The Fly) and Will Smith (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air). The plot is that a huge alien ship a quarter the size of the Moon is heading to Earth. It deploys small (by comparison) alien destroyers about 15 miles wide. They quickly hover over the cities of New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., London, Paris, and Moscow. Soon after they unleash their death ray upon the skyscraper their death ray is hovering over. They quick disintegrate the buildings and causes a wall of fire that destroys everything it touches. After that the movie is boring. I love it when they destroy the Empire State Building in ID4 is destroyed
