The process by which a retailer, hotelier, or food service provider artificially changes the aggregate customer reviews posted about it on Yelp. This may involve (1) paying Yelp to hide bad reviews, (2) adding fake positive reviews, (3) paying third parties to add fake positive reviews, or (4) writing negative reviews about competitors.
