Vegemite as we aussies know it as is a yeast extract spread originally used to flavour gravies and stocks as it is very salty. It is most commonly used spread thinly on bread with lots of butter. 'i'm a happy little vegemite (veggie-mite), as bright as bright can be, we all enjoy our vegemite for breakfast lunch and tea..... it puts the rose in every cheek'
