The strangest, most clamourous, most obnoxious of all instruments. They are even more annoying than the Flute. trumpets are annoying and usually played by the most defiant person in the band. Hell, trumpets are so irritating, they don't deserve to have their name capitalize, not even at the begining of a scentence. trumpets should mellow out like they're cousins, Cornets
. They are much more beautiful in every way compared to the trumpet. By the way, this is coming from an Alto Saxophonist, not a Cornet player. Unfortunately, they usually get all the solos because they're the loudest. A Saxophone, Clarinet, Oboe, French Horn, or Trombone would sound much better in a solo, instead. Since trumpet players are the main people looking this up, I'll probaly have many disagree with me.
What do a trumpet and lawsuit have in common? Everyone is happy when the case is closed!

A brass instrument with three valves and a conical bore. It plays in treble clef and has a range of roughly two and a half octaves, from F# below the staff to C above the staff. The trumpet is widely used in many musical scenarios, and is very prominent in wind ensembles, orchestras, jazz bands and brass ensembles.
Though the instrument generally has a range of two and a half octaves, many trumpet players extend their range "into the stratosphere", sometimes even above the High C.

"That band's trumpet section is phenominal!"
The greatest instrument ever. The instrument that gets to play fanfares. The instrument that can produce many messed-up (in a good way) sounds. For example, blowing air across the valve end caps produces a low wind-whistle, and if you trill the valve, the wind-whistle also trills. You can shriek by blowing a sharp burst of air across the mouthpiece. You can sound like an elephant by lowering the valves halfway and blowing.
