The Theatre of Pompey was the worlds largest theatre ever built.

It was financed by Pompey The great during his second Consulship of the Ancient Roman Republic in 55 BC.

It was built in the Campus Martius area outside the ancient city walls.

It is behind this theatre in the curia of the Theatre of Pompey that Julius Caesar was murdered by the senate.
The senate was meeting at the "Theatre of Pompey" while the Curia Julia was being built.
