A practice commonly exercised by politicians, dictators, corporate establishments, salesmen and your parents, where one deliberately substitutes words such as "me", "I" or "oneself" for "you" in order to appear selfless and public-spirited. Common Politician: "This is what public (you) wants."
Correctly interpreted as "This is what I want." Hence The Politician's "You". |
