What is probably the most annoying creature on the face of the Earth?
The Scene Kid. Look at the way they dress, looks like they went for a dumpster dive behind the salvation army in the late 80s. They do stupid shit that no one likes just to draw attention, like to throw a shoe at someone who decided to take a nap. You ask how is this a summer time problem? It really isn't, its a school year problem. Its just annoying kids who come to high school and decide to combine the dickness of the jocks and the bad fashion taste of Dillon Bailey and Emo kids (sorry Dillon, lol).

Let's go into more depth of the scene kid equation.

Dumb kid + being spoiled + not understanding the definition of cool + not being able to dress themselves

all that ^ divided by the stuff below

indecisiveness - true happiness

all that multiplied by the emo factor = scene kid.

Now why do scene kids exsist in a world like this? Because some where along the line, all the wanna-bes in the subcultures got together and had one big orgy, following, all the wanna-be cultures realized they had brought about their own death and all the posers in these wanna-be communes immediately realized that they had created an even more annoying being then themselves creating a lack of need for their generation, so they all ran of the Cliffs of Dover. The Scene kids were now just in an infantile state and left alon in these poser communes, they took up all the mismatched and no longer in style clothing and wore it in outfits that looked like shit and potentially would drive off future mates. After a good semester or two, the wanna-bes had repopulated, thus throwing the scene kids into a world of homeless chaos, the emo factor came in. They became hateful and bitter with the world and felt unaccepted, so they decided to show their anger instead of being like the emos and bottling it up, so they began to develop annoyance techniques to make the other subcultures feel pain. Their first attempt was throwing shit at the outsiders. It worked well enough at first, but the more angered subcultures would throw shit back, but now since their bodies and feelings had been weakened by the emo factor, they couldn't take the pain and were easily beaten back by the other angry students and then the scene kids would go back to their seats/desks and cry for the rest of the class. They needed a new tactic, so they adopted a tactic from one of the oldest subcultures, the jock attitude. Be a dick verbally as much as possible. Soon scene kids became more powerful, able to pick on the nerds. But soon, the fun would stop, most scene kids discovered that whilst being a scene kid it was hard to maintain a relationship and this would trigger the emo factor into mass emo-osity. Once the realtionship would end, the scene kid will sink into an emo stage of nonstop crying for a months, during this month or months, depending on how emo the scene kid is, both the male and female scene kids are struck with PMS and become total and complete spoiled brats, throwing mood swings, chairs, shoes, books, and book bags as their face is as red as a tomato, it is best to avoid the scene kid in this state, because it will either result in getting hit with something or you releasing your madd fists of fury on their ass and getting sent to the principals office. It is most likely not a very good idea to release your madd Tood Johnson kung-fu skills on a scene kid in this state because it will most likely dig you into more trouble than you usually get into and when you get back from your stay in Lawler's Deth Room, the scene kid will remain the same way for longer, sometimes when a scene kid has a break up in a relation ship, they can slip into complete emo-osity and never return, this is good as it means one less scene kid and one more nonexsistent person. At the end of the year, the scene kid winds down into a self-secluded state and begins to hybernate for the summer and prepare for its long stay at home because no one likes them. During their hybernation, most scene kids place themselves infront of the PC to Myspace until the beginning of next school year.
That Monique chick is a scene kid. What a piece of shit.

Scene kids usually go to local shows have extremly tight groups. They may be there for the music but usually they are there for the social time. Scene kids are usually very picky about who they talk to and associate with. If they deem you cool they may go up to you and talk to you and act as if they've known you for years.

(Unknown girl tries to approach)
(They take one look at her say hi and walk away quickly.)

Your typical scene kid, guy or girl, will either have black hair, or some insane color, or just crazy streaks, with a shock of bangs covering up one eye or both. Hair MUST be dead straight. Sometimes it's poofy-spiked in the back, whatever u call it. Pretty much just the white kids follow the hair trend. Or girls of other ethnicities. I do NOT recommend this part to black guys. Ever seen one with long hair and a poof in the bag? WITH a shock of bangs and crazy hair color? Not the best visual I assume.

Guys will typically have on extremely tight skinny jeans, sometimes girls jeans, with a really tight fitting band t-shirt and bracelets. The jeans usually aren't flares or bootcuts, but straight-leg pencil jeans.

Girls will normally have on the same thing or funky outfits that won't match but will go together. Typical outfit will consist of a polka-dot or striped shirt with a band hoody and they will have on sometimes skirts with crazy leggings. Lots of leggings. They will wear little kid barrettes and bows, bright eyeshadow, the hugest sunglasses in the world, and strands of pearls/beads. Oh and handbands are a MUST.

A lot of scene chicks will wear no namebrand clothing and then have a really expensive designer bag.

Definately a cool belt, sometimes the buckle worn on the side, like on the hip.

Straight-Edge(no smoking, no drinking) & being Christian & being a vegetarian is really popular. I never knock straight-edge. Even though it's become a trendy thing, at least it promotes good health.

Saying omgzzzz & rawr & bikthx (I don't know why either).

Both guys and girls will wear loads of eyeliner and Converse chucks or Vans.

They're favorite pastime is of course going to lots of shows, and doing it up on MySpace. Most people consider scene kids to be MySpace whores, because they will add any and everyone just to get their friends count up (they're not the only ones tho!). Will have a gazillion photos of themselves photoshopped, covering their mouth, throwing up peace signs, doing the pigeon toe, holding the camera up in the air, them and one of their friends putting their faces together while smiling and looking down with their bangs all in their face, kissing the mirror, or holding their knees & looking down as though to say that they're sad. They'll give their pictures random titles that make no sense, just makes them sound deep. Tend to come off either overly depressed when they're more than likely not, or they'll seem incredibly conceited, vain, and arrogant. Most aren't that way, they just do it because everyone else is. There are some cool/nice ones though.

They're typical username on Myspace will have to do with they're favorite band/song or just death/suicide. Will normally have brackets around things or lots of X's. Scene kids have the most awesome pages on Myspace AND the most "friends". A lot of them will use words like Terror,Strange, & Suicide in their names. Ex: Travis Terror, or Emily Suicide. They also like to use the copyright and trademark symbols.

A lot of them wear bandanas around their necks or around their head or even covering their face. They use old slang like rad and stellar. And old hip hop/urban slang no one uses anymore, like fashizzle & fosho. They like to call each other nigga, nikka, nukka. Obsessed with robots and dinosaurs.

They like to say random silly offthewall things that make no sense, but to them it's helarious.

A vast majority of scene kids are bisexual or gay. For most it's just part of the trend that they're following. For others who ARE bi/gay, it's a way for them to fit in and make friends.

Part of the trend is random making out with someone of the same sex, in front of large crowds. I don't get this either, but hey it's what they do. Kinda hot sometimes when it's guys. I'm just sayin......

That's it. That's a scene kid for you. Don't knock the scene kids. I mean they're not going around knocking the hip hop kids or the preps. A scene kid will not interfere with your lifestyle, so, don't interfere with theirs.
See above for an example of a Scene Kid. Shit my fingers hurt.

for the love of God, come on.
i mean, everyone makes fun of 'scene' kids or 'emo' kids for comforming to something that is supposed to be a symbol of non-comformity. You are all contradicting yourselves. Your saying that you want to hurt/kill/piss on?!? someone for the way they look? Has the human race honestly regressed that far back? take a look at movies like - mississippi burning, the pianist or to kill a mockingbird. Your acting the same way as the people in the movies. Your critisiing someone for their beliefs. I do not identify as 'emo' 'indie' or 'scene' but i do own vans slip ons, i do wear tight jeans, and i do listen to bands that the majourity of my classmates have not heard of. But just because my jeans are tighter than yours does not make me a lesser human being, or a 'fag' as you so delictaly put it. someone listens to obscure bands? Why the fuck do you care? get a FUCKING hobby. please. people who listen to unpopular music do so, for the most part, because music is a huge part of life for them, and seeing it slowly stripped down and sold for ratings waters down the concepts that the music originaly held. That is why they prefer to listen to bands that you dont know about, so that they DONT become like my chemicle romance, fall out boy, ect. If you still thnk that they are conforming, than think of this. People who go to AE or AF ae spending ALOT of money on the clothes they buy. Kids who go to vintage stores are buying cheap and for the most part really nice clothing. everyone, whether you want to admit it or not, has before, will in the future, or is copying someone. It doesnt make you a bad person though, it makes you a human, cause the sad fact is, that there is no originaly left, everything has been done. So if kids want to hold on to what they see as the last shred of originaly left in modern society, let them. and fuck off.
uneducated person's rant -
emo boyz and scene kids are such FAGS. with their girls jeans and eye liner. They are all trend followers! i want to kill them all because they listen to obscure music and wear clothes that fit well. i will also make durogatory comments about the size of their genitals, specualte about their sexual preferences and continuely judge them as a whole instead of everyone at a time. HARDXCORE

everybody's different, different people belong to different cliques, different cliques follow different fashions...whats so wrong about that?

people have different ways of doing things, why cant that just be accepted?
everyone is a person, no matter what they dress like or how they wear their hair, scene kids or not

Scene Kids are the new wave hardcore kids. Often mistaken for emo because of people's ignorance. They are actually a happy new trend. They are the other half of the hardore civil war (meatheads vs scene kids) they also listen to screamo, techno, punk rock, indie rock and hip hop. All scene kids style and straighten their hair. Most wear eyeliner (not to be confused with emo eyepaint), girl pants and tight band/splash paint style shirts. It is rare to see a scene kid without converse shoes but, vans or retro shoes are also in their list of clothing accessories. THEY DO NOT CUT THEIR WRISTS... like I said before they are not emo and tend to dislike EMOtionaly unhappy people. In more urban areas scene kids carry hand guns and are more gang like. Most scene kids go to shows regularly and are seen in pits hardcore dancing.
From First to Last is a band scene kids might listen to while Dashboard Confessional is a band emo kids listen to.
