usually between the ages of 14-18. They are an interesting species. a typical scene kid will claim to love cupcakes, diamonds, hello kitty and basically anything shiny or pink.
Photography is a big thing in a scene kids world. they often write in their 'about me' sections on myspace that they want to be a photographer and prove how good they are at photography by posting pictures they took, usually consisting of an inanimate object (mostly cupcakes) in black and white. all scene kids strive to be internet famous just like their heroes (Audrey Kitching, Jeffree Star etc) and thrive on being the cause of internet drama and love when people start rumours about them so they can bitch about that person and make bulletins bad mouthing them. They have a "dont fuck with me" kinda attitude and admit to being shallow and arrogant and always claim to not give a shit of what people think of them when really thats all they care about. screen names are sacred in the scene kid culture. typical screen names include things such as "CaitlinxChaos" and "SallyxSuicide". their hobbies include dying and cutting their own hair. most scene kids will have more than one colour in their hair and the style will consist of multi, uneven layers with short choppy layers on top, and long straight hair extensions down the bottom. scene kid #1: "I plan on making something out of my life. I have a passion for hairstyling/make-up application and as soon as I'm finished high school, I am going to cosmetology school."
scene kid #2: "i dont care about hatemails. they actually amuse me. you don't even know me to have the right to send me some. don't think you'll get my attention then. you can call me vain. i'm not." |

LET'S JUST MAKE IT CLEAR THAT I'M NOT WITH OR AGAINST THIS KIND OF PEOPLE. Typical scene kid * has over 5000 friends on myspace. * tries not to fix their myspace page too much, to make it sound like they don't give a shit about it. * they constantly say they have a life outside of myspace. * their myspace urls include words like: drug, killer, phsycho, millionaire, malice, gore, vanity, miss, massacre, panic, doll, brutal, terror, etc; including a trademark next to it. * They join a gazillion trains, to get as many scene friends as possible. * Most of them are vegan and are members of PETA. * They use extensions and dye their hair of different colors just to seem cool. they dye it not only of a rainbow color, they can have their hair covered with an animal print, like zebra or leopard, zig zags, stripes |

Since the 2007 downfall of the Scene trend, there are less Scenesters out there. However, it has been picked up by the younger generation. These kids are usually 13-16. Sadly, you may also see 10-12 year olds trying it out, then failing epically. A lot of things are different, yet the foundation of the Scene is mostly the same.

The first stage of the Scene, sometimes labeled ‘elektrikk’ evolved into ‘br00tal’, which now has come to what I’d call “new age scenesters” MUSIC: 2008 = screamo, post-hardcore, electronic/dance, acoustic AS OPPOSED TO 06/07 = deathcore, grindcore, hardcore 2005 = pop punk, emo HAIR: 2008 = teased, less crazy and dead bird-like, brown gaining popularity 06/07 = teased to dead bird-like state, strictly black or white blonde 2005 = short, choppy, black STYLE: 2008 = standard vans/converse, skinny jeans, band t-shirts, graphic/vintage, plastic jewelry, bandanas 06/07 = skin-tight black skinny jeans, black skirts+leggings, plastic jewelry 2005 = (same as 2008 scenesters) MAKE UP: 2008 = dark eyeliner, colored or no eye shadow 06/07 = black eyeliner, cat-eye or winged out, black eye shadow, fake moles 2005 = (same as 2008 scenesters) ATTITUDE: 2008 = resembling normal people. some are conceited and pull a “SUP IM BETTA DEN U” move 06/07 = total elitist snobs. Arrogant, cocky, stuck-up, etc. Only talk to people as amazing & trendy 2005 = more snobby than new age scenesters, but not as bad as the br00tal kids. Many bysta... |

Scene kids are the shit!
The guys wear: tight chick pants, tight band shirts, T.U.K. shoes sometimes, rite-aid slip-on shoes, sometimes eyeliner, they have black or bleach blonde hair, and bangs in their face The girls wear: tapered pants, bright shirts, many layers of shirts, a lot of pearls, a lot of eyeliner, bright eyeshadow, T.U.K. shoes, ballet flats, mostly rite-aid slip-ons vans slip ons, little girl hair clips, long choppy bleach blonde hair, short black and bleach blonde hair, both with bangs that are in their face and most often they dye and cut their own hair They listen to the best music that they LIKE for real. They live for shows, local or not it doesn't matter they like the music they'll be there. And they love to mosh so be careful. They make up words and call everyone kid, they are in love with dinosaurs, robots, and ninjas, oh and myspace. They use cool words like rad. They are often vegetarian or vegan. In their myspace pictures you can never see there face and their pictures are always photoshopped You cannot give an example of wha a scene kid says they may dress similar and use some of the same words but they are all different
