Scene kids are awesome. We wear funky neon colors, and we layer tanks over long sleeved tees a lot. Graphic tees are a big part of our style, and our tees usually have something like Gir, Skelanimals, or Hello Kitty on them. Anything cute and childish is perfect. Tight band tees are a plus as well, especially if they're vintage. We also wear dark washed skinny jeans. The tighter the better. Ballet flats are cute, but I prefer Converse in assorted colors. Accessories include bright, noticeable earrings, jelly bracelets, fake beads and pearls, and any vintage/out there jewelry you can find. Hair is probably our most important feature. It MUST be dead straight. No curls, waves, or any hint of volume allowed. We tease it a lot, and then put things such as oversized neon bows and kiddie clips in it. Some people dye their hair neon colors or bleach it, but mine is naturally dark, and I never bothered to dye it. Coontails are also big in the scene community. You can get extensions, or you can bleach/dye your hair so you have them directly in your hair. Makeup is another thing us scene kids love. I usually use mascara, liquid eyeliner, black eyeshadow, and stick eyeliner, so my eyes are very smoky and black. Neon colors are accepted as well. Almost every scene kid has a Myspace. You must accept every single friend request you get. You must also go to tons of shows, and post pictures on your Myspace. Us scene kids are very, very conceited/vain. We know we look better than you. We know we are better than you, and we never fail to show it. We almost always think that people who aren't "scene" are unattractive and therefore we generally don't hang out with them. We're very goofy and fun, and contrary to popular belief, we don't cut, we're not depressed, and we're generally not rude or mean to people who don't bother us. Most of us dream of becoming a model, photographer, hair stylist, or some kind of artist. Modeling, photographing, and styling other people's hair are three of my main hobbies, and I love it. We'll get deeply offended if you call us emo, so don't. We will deny being scene as well, even though we totally are. We love anything bright, happy, cute, and fun. If you're SxE it means you don't drink, do drugs, etc. If you're HxC it means you do. (I'm SxE.) We use lots of scene lingo, such as "the sexx", "radd", and "stellar". We also have "scene names", which are alliterative names, such as Brooke Burnout or Tina Terror or Hannah Homicide. And finally, remember: You can never go wrong as long as you're original!
Scene Kid: OMG Look at that totally cute Hello Kitty necklace! It's thasexx!!
Other Scene Kid: Oh em gee yeah!! It's totally radd!! Let's totally get it!!
Both: *laughing hysterically as they run into the store*

Your typical scene kid, guy or girl, will either have black hair, or some insane color, or just crazy streaks, with a shock of bangs covering up one eye or both. Hair MUST be dead straight. Sometimes it's poofy-spiked in the back, whatever u call it. Pretty much just the white kids follow the hair trend. Or girls of other ethnicities. I do NOT recommend this part to black guys. Ever seen one with long hair and a poof in the bag? WITH a shock of bangs and crazy hair color? Not the best visual I assume.

Guys will typically have on extremely tight skinny jeans, sometimes girls jeans, with a really tight fitting band t-shirt and bracelets. The jeans usually aren't flares or bootcuts, but straight-leg pencil jeans.

Girls will normally have on the same thing or funky outfits that won't match but will go together. Typical outfit will consist of a polka-dot or striped shirt with a band hoody and they will have on sometimes skirts with crazy leggings. Lots of leggings. They will wear little kid barrettes and bows, bright eyeshadow, the hugest sunglasses in the world, and strands of pearls/beads. Oh and handbands are a MUST.

A lot of scene chicks will wear no namebrand clothing and then have a really expensive designer bag.

Definately a cool belt, sometimes the buckle worn on the side, like on the hip.

Straight-Edge(no smoking, no drinking) & being Christian & being a vegetarian is really popular. I never knock straight-edge. Even though it's become a trendy thing, at...

Scene Kids are the new wave hardcore kids. Often mistaken for emo because of people's ignorance. They are actually a happy new trend. They are the other half of the hardore civil war (meatheads vs scene kids) they also listen to screamo, techno, punk rock, indie rock and hip hop. All scene kids style and straighten their hair. Most wear eyeliner (not to be confused with emo eyepaint), girl pants and tight band/splash paint style shirts. It is rare to see a scene kid without converse shoes but, vans or retro shoes are also in their list of clothing accessories. THEY DO NOT CUT THEIR WRISTS... like I said before they are not emo and tend to dislike EMOtionaly unhappy people. In more urban areas scene kids carry hand guns and are more gang like. Most scene kids go to shows regularly and are seen in pits hardcore dancing.
From First to Last is a band scene kids might listen to while Dashboard Confessional is a band emo kids listen to.
4. Scene Kid
Scene kids are really adorable and usually extremely nice.
Scene kids are very lively and fun to be around.
Scene kids are often mistaken for emo kids. Scene is a mixture of emo and preppy and they like to go to shows (where the scene is). Scene kids will occasionally listen to a rap song.

A scene GIRL: is pale, wears flats, jeans, striped shirts, shirts with bands, big jewelry, animalfur-patterened shirts, camoflauge, short choppy multicolored hair with bangs sweeping over one eye.

a scene BOY: tight jeans, camoflauge, band shirts, black clothing, bandanas, black hair usually and often multi colored streaks in it as well that fringes over an eye.

81.6% of scene kids have a myspace. *not proven

you can often catch scene kids saying "rawrr," "you are the sex," "bang bang bang," "i'm a ganstaa," "adjectiveface," or "supnoun" on their myspace.
they also use words like "rad" and "stellar"
scene kids have cute obsessions with things like rocketships, cheerios, ninjas, or pokemon (for example).

cute scene girls are usually going out with adorable scene guys...and are always "madly inlove with one another"
scene kid (boy): "hey love, are you coming with me to the from first to last show tonight? its supposed to be rad."
scene girl:"yeah i heard that was gonna be stellar."
scene boy: "aww you ARE the sex" :) *kiss with no tounge*
scene girl: "pick me up later...i have to redo my makeup. i look like a retardface"
5. Scene Kid
A label of young people that has become more prominent in use over the past decade. Scene kids are usually aged 14 – 21. Sometimes older or younger. Scene kids older than 20 are commonly referred to as scenesters.

Scene kids are often mistaken for emo kids- and while there are many similarities there are also many differences. When emo music first became trendy in the 80s and 90s, ‘emotionally hardcore’ teenagers would go to these emo concerts. Today, emo music is still popular, and because scene kids go to ‘hardcore’ shows, they too often attend these concerts, and others will see them in the crowd with emo kids, and think that they are emo as well, as the two groups influence each other. (Thus, emo hair is popular with scene kids, and band t-shirts popular with emos). The term ‘emo’ is also often abused to the extent that many people categorize emo and scene as the same.

Scene kids are obsessed with Hello Kitty, dinosaurs, little kiddy things, and bright colors. They’re usually nice people, but will be offended if you call them ‘emo’. Some also do not like to be called scene, or labeled at all. Scene kids will often give the impression that they think that they’re better than everyone else, but it depends on the person. They are best friends with their iPod, computer and cell phone. Many people do not like scene kids because they think that they are unoriginal and all look the same, and are trying too hard, or are annoying...
