a Rice car is used to refer to sports cars of Asian make who have heavily cosmetic modifications and little or no internal modifications.

RICE - stands for Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement.

Commonly misunderstood by people who believe any asian 'done up' sports car is a rice mobile, and used as a negative term.
Dude, John thinks his civic is so sick. Why would you spend so much on external mods before changing anything internally?

I dunno man, i wouldn't. But i guess he likes the rice car look eh?

An automobile, generally of import classification, that is souped up and characterized by use of stickers and decals that do not match any manufacturer of the car, spoilers that look like airplane landing gear, and hideous paintjobs and fart cans. See also rice rocket.

Note: rice cars may be driven by eggs or rice boys. Rice cars are not solely an Asian phenomenon.
"Check out Joe's rice car. He's got Celica lights on that shit, and that's an Acura. Look at that spoiler, too... man, that is the ugliest shit ever."

A vehicle from a country that exports rice. Japan. Rice does not stand for "race inspired cosmetic enhancement". That was developed in the last few years by people who drive rice cars but don't want to admit it. The term "rice burner" has been around since the 70s while the "race inspired" definition was created around 2010.

This is not to be confused with the term "Ricer". A ricer is an individual, not a vehicle. Someone who puts very large/loud exhaust, bulky body kits(usually unpainted or spray painted), large wheels with tiny tires, excessive negative camber, "drift trinkets", tow hooks, neon lights, body colored interior plastic parts, wings, non-functional hood scoops, Japanese writing on the windows, metal cold air intakes(these are hot air intakes as metal under a hood gets very hot), candy painted valve covers and other tasteless cosmetic modifications on their vehicles. You do not have to drive a rice car to be a ricer. You do not have to be a ricer to drive a rice car. The two are completely separate.
Jimmy just got a rice car. Its a 300hp Subaru STi.

The owner of that Focus is a serious ricer. Look at that nasty primered body kit and giant wing.

Any cheap car, especialy Asian, that has been "upgraded" with after-market parts(exaust, body kits, nitrous, spoilers, speakers, lights, etc...)in an attempt to make it faster and/or "pimpin".
In reality, instead of making a car better, "ricing it up" makes it utterly and completly gay. Rice cars are easily beaten in races by American and European sports cars. Also, anyone who owns a rice car is looked down upon and seen as shameful by non-ricers. Rice cars are typically driven by young lower and middle class Asians, Hispanics, whiteboys and even some African Americans.
My GTO has a 400 hp engine factory. All it does is beat up on ricers all day long.
Ricers beware!!!!

Get the Rice Car mug.
A term that Americans use to describe Superior performance asian cars out of jealousy. These cars are products of Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Lexus, and Acura. Jealousy comes from the superior looks, engine, reliabilty, street cred, luxury in which American cars are clearly inferior to. These cars are driven by any class of people. Some of these cars may be heavily modified for looks, performanace, or both.
Friend: How did you do?
Driver: Ha. My RSX smoked his Cobra peice of...
Angry owner of Ford Cobra: Stupid rice car.
