| 1. | Post hoc | ||
|
A logical fallacy in which one event is said to be the cause of a later event simply because it occurred earlier. From the Latin, short for post hoc, ergo propter hoc, "after this, therefore because of this." Basically: A occurred, then B occurred. Therefore, A caused B. Post Hoc: Roosters crow just before the sun rises. Therefore, roosters crowing causes the sun to rise.
