an ABC sitcom airing from 1987 to 1994 and one of my favorite tv shows ever. Stars Mark Lynn-Baker as Larry Appleton and Bronson Pinchot as "cousin" Balki Bartokomous. The first episode featured Balki showing up unannounced on "cousin" Larry's Chicago apartment. Balki is from the fictional Mediterranean island of Mypos and is often mesmorized by American culture and relates it to his own. Balki is ignorant of many things about America but is compassionate and sympathetic. Cousin Larry is an analytical, selfish, paranoid little prick who will do what suits him in most situations. Both charcters later got girlfriends who were their neighbors. The married them near the end of the series and both couples concieved a child at the show' cancellation. Perfect Strangers was one of those 80s sitcoms that were cancelled and had no real ending. Perfect Strangers was probably my favorite sitcom.

A kickass song by Deep Purple. I can't get it out of my head. See www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwoTaisFMIE A strand of silver, hanging through the sky
Touching more than you see The voice of ages in your mind Is aching With the dead of the night Precious life Your tears are lost in falling rain And if you hear me talking on the wind You've got to understand We must remain Perfect strangers |
