1. someone who believes that the country in which they happened to be born entitles them to the destruction of other peoples and nations.
2. someone who finds paying taxes in order to overthrow existing foreign governments, replace them with their own nation's corporate lobbyists, and then later destroy them when deemed to be out of compliance with the economic interests of their own country to be a worthwhile expenditure.
The Ameriacn patriots empowered Hussein with millions of tax dollars and weapons in order to fight Iran, then starved 50,000 Iraqi children a year from 1992-1997 by blockading and destroying supply shipment routes to civilian areas before realizing that yet another war was necessary if their country was ever going to establish true economic control of a region vital to nurturing American overconsumption.

2001-2008 a patriot was someone who loved their country so blindly that they did not question any of their governments policies, or decisions to go to war. These patriots would call anyone who spoke out against our government people who hate america or blame america first

2009-Present (as long as a democrat holds the white house) a patriot is someone who loves their country so much that they feel it their duty to not only question, but malign the President and his party, frequently using racial and homophobic slurs to describe people on the left of the political spectrum.

"Patriot" has become synonymous with "hypocrite"
"Bush was the greatest president ever, he cared about our freedom, he was a patriot! Obama is taking away our freedom by giving us universal access to health care, he is not a patriot". "Shut up, wingnut, you're not a patriot"

Mainly mistaken as a "strong supporter of his/her own country", this word has now lost its meaning completely due to the ever-changing society of the United States. The word, comes from a Latin root, "pater", meaning father, and the Greek root "patēr". This word is derived from French, Greek, and Latin words.

Common Synonyms for Patriotism:
-indoctrination
-brainwashing
-false sense of pride
-nationalist

Common Antonyms for Patriotism:
-enlightened

-aware
-intelligent
-self-caring
-wise
-apprehensive

Basically defined in today's terms, a patriot is an individual, commonly witnessed in the United States, who has strong belief in his/her government, and will blindly oblige to what the government orders him or her to do. Patriots are often seen associated with firearms, whether it be on social media or in open-carry states like Texas. Not knowing that they are already oppressed and losing freedom fast, they "preach" their second amendment, which will soon be gone if no further action is taken to preserve the right. Common misconceptions are that patriots are very closely associated with red-necks and hill-billies. Although this may be true in most cases, patriots exist everywhere. Patriots are more-often-than-not, obligated to join the military for bragging rights.
Person 1: "I am a Patriot!"

Person 2"Congratulations, the government succeeded in brainwashing your ass so that you could go join the army and do the politicians' dirty bidding!"

Someone who grew up in the rural United States and loves guns, the military, and war above all else. Hates the Constitution, except for the 2nd Amendment, and most everyone else, outside of fellow patriots.

The patriot particularly despises gays, women, minorities, and Muslims. Strongly identifies as Christian but has no idea what Jesus Christ actually said or taught. If Jesus were to reappear on earth, a patriot would consider him a weak, wimpy, cowardly, effeminate, contemptible liberal do-gooder.
1. A patriot never met a war he didn't adore.
2. Real patriots don't do peacekeeping. Peace is for namby pamby girlyboys.
