The act of silencing someone who is doing something stupid, ignorant, or simply something that bothers you. You "octaive" them in order to stop them in their tracks. The hand motion involved in octaiving someone is to move your hand across with the horizon, delicately, with the sureness of a surgeon, as if you are cutting their head clean off....all while making the sound <eeeeeee>.
