The town is comprised of the american elite, many of whom spend their winters in pennsylvania, NEH is nicknamed Philadelphia on the Rocks for this very reason. Houses in Northeast Harbor which are along Somes sound are reffered to as 'cottages' however each and everyone is a monument to high society, for these 'cottages' are some of the most lavish mansions, especially considering they are lived in for two months out of a year, and for some only one.
