A nice place to live until you decide where you really want to live.

The so-called mountains are hours away from all the cities and are have no views as they are not really mountains and covered with trees. More like foothills.
The beaches are hours away from all the cities and hot as hell in the summer. The typical Carolina beach vacation is to rent a house miles from any restaurants and try not to get too burnt. There are no waves to speak of.
The Golf courses are World Class. And very numerous. The only thing that outnumber the golf courses are the churches. About a par-5 between churches.
The state is bordered to the south by South Carolina, a place so shockingly devoid of culture and populated by religious bigots that it makes one wonder what happens at the otherwise invisible state line.
The so-called cities are really overgrown suburbs. All linked together along the Interstate by strip-malls.
The state university system is very good. It is assumed that all residents are interested in college basketball and that you follow one of the local teams. You will be expected to be able to discuss basketball as easily as the weather.
The state-pastime is to go to the local Mall. Mall's in North Carolina fill up like it's Christmas every weekend.
If North Carolina were West of the Rockies it would be even more boring than Oregon.
Me: I'm moving from North Carolina.
You: Why ?
Me: Everything here is about half-way. I know what I want now.

A Great state and not a place of just backwoods rednecks. Summers are warm, winters are cool. We can't drive in snow/ice like you northerners, so don't pick on us. Mountains on the west, beaches on the east, and everywhere between is beautiful. Big cities, but filled with nice southern folk who will talk your head off if you let them.

A place where ACC basketball is life. Everyone has a team they love UNC or hate Duke.

When passing through Raleigh, stop at Char Grill and grab a Cheerwine.
Man we passed through North Carolina; that place was great.

the coolest state in the country. may not be california, but it is definitely my home sweet home. got the mountains on the west, got the beach on the east, and everything in between. what could be better?

home to awesome basketball teams. dont hate on the south and east coast, cuz you know we rock. we may be part of the south, but we have diversity everywhere. can't forget the first flight. sure, we have a countryside, but then we have the urban city side! see? north carolina is all-around AWESOME.

if u dont like north carolina and think we're just some rednecks and hicks, get on a plane and fly over to nc and watch me kick your a$$ :-)

Hometown of Krispy Kreme doughnuts, among many other things (like ACC basketball!). The majority of the state is pretty diverse, although many of the good ol' boy types still think they're in charge. The state is welcoming to almost everyone, but there is still a lot of intolerance.

Preppy is the general style. Live here and own at least 12 Polo and Lacoste shirts. Or be shunned from society. Your choice.
Yankee: North Carolina is just a bunch of stupid rednecks who live in trailers.
Yankee 2: Really? Then I wonder how they afford that Ferrari convertable parked in front of that mansion over there.
