One of the best channels on TV, until 2000/2001 when most of the classic and good shows were cancelled, thrust into reruns and replaced with mediocre shows, then around 2004 went downhill even further when the classic shows weren't shown as reruns anymore, and the new new shows went from mediocre to just straight up crap.

Examples of the lost magic and current crapiness of Nickelodeon:
All That: Originally very funny and more mature, then became a dull kiddy show before it was cancelled.
The classic Rocko's Modern Life which was hilarious and amazing has been replaced with the annoying and repititive Spongebob Squarepants.
Even shows in the new generation of Nick which were actually cool like My Life As A Teenage Robot, received good reviews and good ratings were cancelled. That seems to be a trend in Nick TV shows, cancel the good shows but keep the bullshit on.

A network that used to be a lot fun to watch when they only aired Nicktoons that are Kappa Mikey, The Mighty B, CatScratch, Rugrats, ChalkZone, My Life As a Teenage Robot, El Tigre, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Danny Phantom, SpongeBob SquarePants, Fairly OddParents and Invader Zim.

Now it's a lame network filled with boring teen sitcom shows like Big Time Rush, iCarly, Victorious, True Jackson VP and The Troop and lame cartoons like Fanboy and Chum Chum, Penguins of Madagascar and BarnYard. Those shows suck so much!

They still show SpongeBob and Fairly OddParents but it's not enough. I just wish Nickelodeon was back to being a perfect network for good Nicktoons.

Rate up if you agree.
Nickelodeon used to be good but now it fails.

Shows like Zoey 101, Naked Brothers Band and Unfabulous failed so why put make more dumb real shows? Those 3D cartoons are stupid and they are not what we want to see.

A kids television channel that debuted in the 80s, hit it's prime in the 90s and then lost it completely.

The labelling of Nickelodeon as a kids channel is debateable because some of their best jokes and shows (before they went downhill) had enough depth to appeal to adults. Most notably, shows like Ren & Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life and the late Invader Zim were filled to the brim with quirky innuendo, jokes and/or references that will likely fly straight over a younger child's head.

Since 2000, quality has been declining, and as of 2008 they have officially hit rock bottom, essentially airing five or six substandard shows back-to-back, occasionally (though this may not still be the case) showing some old programming during school hours so that older fans (now probably having left school) can still find mild enjoyment in the channel.

It is hoped by many that Viacom is simply going through a rough time and will pick up quality eventually, but as quality continues to decline, most older fans are giving up hope (which only makes sense given that it is a childrens channel).
Nickelodeon hardly needs an example now does it?

One of the, if not THE, most anti-parent television stations to ever exist. They always portry parents as stupid, worthless, and not worthy to be respected.
This is true until it comes to the parents buying stuff from their company.

A television network founded in 1977 that was aimed mostly towards the younger / teen audience.

The prime of this network really hit it's peak in the early - late 90's, with amazing nicktoons, game shows, cartoons, and live action programs such as: The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Kenan and Kel, GAS, Double Dare, Salute Your Shorts, Wild and Crazy Kids, Rocko's Modern Life, Doug, and the Ren & Stimpy Show, to name a few. Kids of all ages enjoyed the network, and had the time of their lives visiting the official Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando Florida, where they can watch these programs live and even participate in the shows.

In the late 90's, something unpredictable happened. The Producers of Nickelodeon decided "Hey, these kids are having too much fun. Let's decide to fuck with their minds and ruin their childhood, and introduce a load of bullshit to the next generation of kids!" They then went on to cancel all the brilliant shows that was once the heart and soul of the network, and replace them with garbage "up to date" shows such as Zoey 101, Unfabulous, Naked Brothers Band, Dance on Sunset, and Avatar. These new garbage programs go absolutely no where and usually cancel after 1 season.

(in 2001, Nickelodeon made an awesome show and everybody thought it was making a come back. That show was Invader Zim. But to nobody's surprise, it was canceled after very few episodes because it was "too funny" and kids were "enjoying it")

The network and company itself had officially died in 2004, with the closing of Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando Florida.

RIP Nickelodeon 1990 - 2004
Nickelodeon was once a great and cheerful kids network. Now it sucks balls.

A TV channel aimed towards young people which previously (around 90s) used to have pretty good TV shows (with a point and a good moral), but then began to air completely stupid, mindless, and pointless shows (around the early 2000's) that teach young kids bad lessons. These shows include such, as Fairly Odd Parents, Spongebob Squarepants, and a recently created show which even better displays the pointlessness and purely bad influence of Nickelodeon on kids: Mr. Meaty.
I don't like Nickelodeon anymore!
Did you see that Spongebob episode on Nickelodeon where Squidward tricks and manipulates Spongebob and Patrick into thinking he's a ghost?
