New Zealand. The Land of the Long White Cloud. Home to 4 million people. It is greener than most countries but I wouldn't call it "clean and green". It is actually a really active and fun place, we should be advertising that instead of clean and green.

The best city's are:

Auckland (if you want to be submerged in traffic and things to do).

Wellington (the capital - advisable to try to ignore the existance of the beehive, and visit the National Museum and generally enjoy the nightlife and cafe's, film festivals, etc.)

Christchurch and Dunedin: A must see for people from the UK in fact you should skip Wellington and Auckland and go there first. It has lots of historical buildings and it has a friendly European feel to it.

Queenstown: The overpriced, adventure capital of the world; a must go if you can afford it.

On Australia and New Zealand:

Relations are equal to that of Canada and the United States. Australia is economically more powerful and dominates a lot of the New Zealand market. It upsets a lot of people, as we see the "great New Zealand buy up". Also the treatment of aborigines is also a sour point, but all in all due to the ANZAC tradition from WW1 relations are good.

Should you visit?

1. NZ is costly
2. It has lots to do
3. It has a nice environment
4. It is out of the way
5. You can lose yourself

1. New Zealand
A beautiful country in the South Pacific, approximately 2200kms South-east of the East coast of Australia. Population: 4 million (as of April 28th, 2003).

Advantages: Strong democracy under a proportional voting system; it's not Australia; moderate climate - neither too hot, nor too cold. Beautiful young women and handsome blokes in abundance: healthy indoors / outdoors lifestyle year-round.

Disadvantages: Only 2200kms from Australia.
You can't go to heaven until you've checked out New Zealand first.

2. New Zealand
The bomb diggity... Home of L&P, V, the Buzzy Bee, Footrot Flats, Jandals, Pavlova, Tip Top ice cream, Fish and Chips, Maketu Pies, Swandris, Paua Shell jewellery, the Silver Fern, beautiful scenery, gazillions of Sheep, Peter Jackson, LOTR, and all the best sportspeople and musicians.

Because of this, a lot of jealous Aussie bastards have claimed 'ownership' of true-blue Kiwi icons, such as Uncle Pete and the Pav.

7. New Zealand
A pretty darn groovy country which by reputation pushes well above it's weight. Rolling green hills, vast golden beaches ,dramatic volcanic plateau(sp?), snow capped mountains, majestic rainforests, towering fiords-New Zealand personifies diversity, both in appearance and communtity, with a fine mix of Maori (indigenous people), Pakeha( White people), Pacific islanders and and many more. People are reputedly amoungst the freindliest in the world and as said the lifestyle easy very chilled-although it has to be said the stereotype of kiwis being backwards is a complete myth. As a nation we're thoroughly commited, hard working, open minded and optimistic. Yes, we have a habit of travelling and extending our OE as it were but in hindsight we're not the bad

Tis also known to be the neighbour of Australia, and contrary to all the crap posted on this page, the anzac alliance still holds strong yet some people take this 'freindly squabbling' to extremities.

Kia Ora

Being a kiwi ain't so bad infact it aint so bad at all.....I love New Zealand

PS: Keep supporting the Allblacks!
