1. Vector
Vector Marketing is a subsidiary of Alcas and controls the general sales of a line of kitchen cutlery called Cutco. There has been much controversy surrounding the trio of companies. Vector and Cutco rely on advertising by word-of-mouth and making no cold calls to homes, and going in and performing hands-on demonstrations of Cutco products. Some claim that they are perfectly legitimate, and there are more than a few success stories within the business.

However, others believe that it is a huge corporate scam, luring in new college kids who're wet behind the ears at jobseeking with vague employment ads and job descriptions, and generating a false sense of competition. Reps may be offered anywhere between $10 to $15 per documented appointment, regardless of sales but with a cumulative incentive rate. However, sales reps will have to use their own car to drive to their appointments within a 10 mile raduis, and neither Vector nor Cutco will pay for the gas. The 9-hour training is unpaid as well.

Some go further, claiming that what the young sales representatives are taught does not match up to documented facts about Cutco knives and the materials used in them, and that they are fed misleading information about their competitors and told to, in turn, feed that to the customers. Also, new reps are to first sell to their family and friends as 'field training'.

As it stands, the scam testimonials are far more numerous than the success...

2. Flux
Refers to the amount and rate at which a liquid (or gas) enters or leaves a surface. Mostly used in engineering courses, but it is also seen in vector calculus.
Find the flux of the vector function F(x,y,z)=xyi+y^2*arctan(y*z)j-exp(2*x*z) over the unit sphere z=p^2.

3. argv
An array of strings containing command line arguments. Usually seen next to argc, which is the number of command line arguments. The V in ArgV stands for vector. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

The first element of this array , argv0, is usually the name of the executable (although it does not have to be!!). argv0 is usually used in printing the "about" information. For example, "cp -?" might return "cp - used to copy files". if for some reason the "cp" program were renamed to "copy", the command "copy -?" might return "copy - used to copy files" without having to modify the program.
int main(int argc,char argv) {
if(argc > 0)
printf("%s\n",argv0);
}

4. bra
In Dirac Notation of quantum mechanics, the representation of a state. The complex conjugate of a ket. Denoted as <f| where f can be a wave function or a set of quantum numbers. Analogous to a row vector in linear algebra. The name originates from separating a bracket ( <f|f'> ) into a bra ( <f| ) and a ket ( |f'> ).
<nlm| is a bra representation of the Hydrogen atom with quantum numbers n, l, and m.
5. Internet Disorder
In·ter·net dis·or·der,
n.

Any psychological disorder whose root pathological cause lies in exposure to certain aspects of the Internet. These include, but are not limited to:

·Google Amnesia;

·Hyperlink ADD (HADD);

·Forum Schizophrenia; and

·Internet Fuckwad Syndrome (IFS).

Treatment of such disorders may ultimately require the removal of the patient from the Internet - the main vector of Internet Pathogens.
My brother has never been the same since he went online; he's being a total douchebag on forums, and can surf Wikipedia for days on end, but have no recollection of where he's been. I should call a doctor; he's suffering from some form of Internet disorder.
6. Internet Fuckwad Syndrome
In·ter·net Fuck·wad Syn·drome,
n.

An Internet disorder where the patient, while acting under the anonymity of an Internet identity, proceeds to act in a manor both disparaging and embarrassing if said individual were to conduct himself in such a way in RL.

The pathology of this disorder stems from the intoxicating effect of freedom from repercussion when violating societal values and morals anonymity can provide. With no perceived penalty for prepubescent, immature behaviour, weaker individuals lose all inhibition, and proceed to mindlessly annoy, harass, abuse, and assault their peers whilst online.

The pathology is succinctly described through John Gabriel's Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory (Penny Arcade; "Green Blackboards (And Other Anomalies)"; 2004/03/19)

Symptoms include, but are not limited to:

·Trolling;

·Posting irreverent, shallow criticisms or comments on YouTube;

·Arguing with an admin on any site;

·Liberally using racial slurs;

·Backing up the use of racial slurs with equally racist rationalizations;

·Creating and distributing Spam...
