The replacement of one meat with another, usually at a breakfast restaurant. Hey! The waiter replaced my bacon with ham without even telling me, and right here, the menu says "no unannounced meataphors!"

Any word used to replace the name of the source animal of a meat with it's euphemistic title, such as "Beef", or "Pork" as opposed to "cow" or "pig". "Would you like the chicken, fish, or beef entree?"
