Used to mean "Laugh Out Loud", however some time ago idiots decided to change the meaning to "I don't know what to say so I'll just say LOL to confuse you as to whether I actually mean it or not". Some awesome people (such as myself) HATE when people say this, because then you have no idea what to respond with. Some annoying people also add this to the end of EVERYTHING THEY SAY! That makes me want to set them on fire.

If you do this, please stop or I'll come to your house and break your Xbox.

Internet acronym meaning "laugh out loud". However, most moms believe that "lol" stands for "lots of love".
Frank (on Facebook): Dude, did you see that epic fail? lol!
Joe (on Facebook): lol, it was hilarious!
Mom (looking over Joe's shoulder): LOL? Are you and Frank gay? You love each other?
Joe: NOOO!! lol means laugh out loud, not lots of love!
Mom (doesn't believe it): Sure it does...

Usually means "Laugh out loud" but has been misinterpreted to mean "Lots of laughs" and in eastern Pennsylvania "Lezbien on Lezbien". Add extra "ol"s if multiple partners are involved. 3=LOLOL.
Dude 1 "Those two girls are going out."
Dude 2 "LOL!"

What people say when they have no clue what's going on and have nothing to say.
Guy 1: Hey, yesterday I slept at 2 o clock in the morning. The bio homework took the longest time but i suppose calculus took some time also. When did you sleep?

Guy 2: um... LOL!
