A band that was formed in 1993 in Bakersfield, California, and emerged with their first album "KoRn" in 1994. The album was a hit in the metal world, as no one had heard anything like it ever before. They have since realised 7 other studio albu,s : Life is Peachy, Follow the Leader, Issues, Untouchables, Take a Look in the Mirror, See You on the Other Side, and an Untitled album. Unfortunately for KoRn, several other trash bands like Slipknot and Limp Bizkit tried to copy their sound, and gave KoRn a band Nu-Metal rep.

Line Up:
Jonathan Davis - Lead Vocals - A really unique singer with the ability to reach many different vocal ranges. He can also scream/scat, as well as play the bagpipes.

Munky - Ex-rythm/Present lead guitarist - Munky is a guitarist that tries, and tries very very hard. Although not containing the best technical skill, he does his best with what talent he has and creates some really catchy riffs (aka evolution).

Fieldy - Bassist - Although at one time probably the worst bassist in the music industry, Fieldy has really matured his sound and style and pioneered the slap-bass technique. You can really hear his skill in songs like "Here to Stay" and "Got the Life".

I am not going to both mentioning Head and David as they are no longer a part of KoRn...

Now for a more personal note. I love KoRn.
No, I am not some 12 year old kid with an attitude problem, No, I do not like Slipknot. KoRn is a band, whether or not you think they are metal, is your opinion, but like it or not, they are huge, and sell out concerts all over the world. The common misconception is that KoRn is pussy metal, or whatever the fuck you want to call it. These statements are made by ignorant people who have a) never listened to them - and - b) followed the crowd with the rest of their "true-metal" friends. My question to them is, what is "True Metal"? Metallica, Slayer? I listen to all of that, and if "True-metal" is heavy stuff like that, then black sabbath and led zeppelin arent true metal...and they are the reason metal is alive today...
Case and point, dont judge a band you dont know anything about, because your bands get trashed by people too, and dont tell me it doesnt annoy you. Accept the fact that other people like other music, and dont act the badass because you like death metal or hardcore....

Innovators of the heavy metal subgenre we now know as nu-metal or aggro-rock. Korn currently consist of 4 members now that rhythm guitarist Head has departed the band; Jonathan Davis, a great frontman and talented vocalist, Munky, a rather average guitarist (along with Head), Fieldy, a pretty slick bassist who greatly defines the band's sound, and Dave Silveria, an underrated and highly talented drummer. KoRn is known for their heavy sound, low-tuned guitars and dark themes and humour.

KoRn has many devoted fans around the world who love them for the music, not because of some poseur teen-angst image complex. It is because of these poseurs that many people hate KoRn, basing their opinion on the fact that many people who like the band shop at Hot Topic and suck at life, so the band must suck too. In reality, KoRn are respected by musicians as innovators, and famous because their sound simply kicks ass. KoRn acknowledges the fact that their recent albums have been sub-par due to wiggerism and promises to return to their roots in their next album. Hey, at least they admit it and learn from it, unlike some bands who use the phrase "people don't like it just because it's different" as an excuse for their crapiness.

In conclusion, you don't have to like KoRn... just don't hate on them for stupid reasons. A lot of people think "real" metal bands like Iron Maiden and Lamb of God suc...

The Best nu-metal band in the whole fuckin' world, ne1 out there who slags them off needs to die and come back as something useful.

A hard rock band that formed in the early-mid nineties. They started becoming successful with hits such as Freak on a Leash, Got the life, and Falling Away from me. They became a huge success in the late nineties. Personally im a huge fan. Ill probably get a bunch of thumbs down from people who dislike korn or who just feel like it. Oh well.

Four years later korn reached mainstream fame with the release of "follow the leader" which debuded #1 and has sold 5 million copies in the U.S. alone. after that korn slowly lost popularity but they still have some die hard fans. As for korn's music's it FUCKING KICKS ASS! No on had heard anything like it before. the low sounds and jagged vocals are beyond comparisson. Korn has also brought along other bands like Limp Bizkit and Orgy. But of course you probly hate korn and the entire nu metal gerne. so let me say this. if you wanna hate somthing why Nu metal? it was only in the main stream for like a year. now its shrunk considerably. so whats the bigger threat to the music you like. a couple of nu metal groups or the main stream garbage that you see on MTV every fuckin day.
