Acronym for Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, which has the purpose of "motivating young people to become better citizens". It is arguably one of the best programs offered in high school. It is taught by retired army instructors (both enlisted and commissioned). Students who are enrolled in the program are called cadets. The typical weekly schedule for a JROTC program is: Drill and ceremony once a week, physical training once a week, uniform inspection once a week, and academics twice a week. Aside from the minimum standard of attending class, there are also optional teams available for the more involved and dedicated cadets to be a part of which include drill team, raider team, rifle team, color guard, honor guard, etc. JROTC units also attend annual camping trips in the fall, spring, and summer. The class is harder to fail then it is to pass with an A since the book work is relatively easy and limited.
JROTC is horribly portrayed as a war machine used to brain wash high school students by anti-war protesters, claiming that it promotes violence, sexism, racism, etc. they also make false claims that the majority of JROTC cadets enlist in the armed forces upon graduation from high school when, in fact, the lot of them go on to further education and become leaders in the civilian and/or military field.
In my opinion, the only downside to the program is the fact that ANYONE can join it, therefore allowing fuck offs who are only in it to get an "easy A" to make the program look retarded.
Cadet 1: wow, i love JROTC. i dont know what id do without it

Cadet 2: Im just in it to get an easy A

Cadet 1: Go fuck yourself...

An elective class that makes non popular high school students believe that there really in the military when in fact most of them are to pussy to go. They all hang out in a group and have no other friends.... People in jrotc are just fags.
jrotc kid: hey! whats up man!

Me: go away....

Jrotc kid: hey you wanna see my ribbons?!?!

Me: your a faggot... *hits kid in face and walk away*

A terribly corrupt and poorly undertaken attempt by the United States Military to indoctrinate and shelter teenagers too young to enlist. Classes cost more than the average high school class, teach racism and homophobia, have a generally sub-par curriculum, and promote violence.
Remember when two Arizona J.R.O.T.C. members dressed in fatigues and killed nine Buddhist monks after looting their temple?

Bill: Hey! I wanna join the J.R.O.T.C.!
Chris: I can't be friends with you anymore.

an elective class in high school in which all the students of that class wear the same uniform every wednesday.
it is, as most people agree, impossible to fail because there are no hard tests and all you have to do is shave and get a trim tuesday night, or whenever you want to before wednesday (as you have to to be "presentable).
when you join the class, all you can talk about is the class, and it reflects upon your conversational skills
the class teaches students to be like the air force, and the instructors take its campiness like its serious.
Fact: John Jay HS in San Antonio (Spurstown) has the largest Air Force ROTC unit anywhere

do not get into a fight with an ROTC cadet, as ROTC works like a gang, and every member will be on you
-Hey, you take JROTC
--yes
-I hate it, you're a dork for being in it, and i will punch you
--really?
-yup *punch*...oh crap!
*punch punch punch punch*
--do ya hate it now?!

1. Stands for Juniors Reserve Training Corps. It is a mock-military program designed to teach kids about leadership. It allows kids to dress up and play in military uniforms while obtaining cadet ranks as they advance further into the program. It also delegates student leaders with "powers" over certain matters in regards to running a battalion while being supervised by retired military instructors.

2. Also known as "RO."

3. Allows kids to misuse their given powers for abusive and personal gain.

4. Known as "Jay rot sey" to the anti-war protesters.
The most overused description of JROTC is "RO is gay."

The one question people always ask people who are in JROTC uniforms is "Are you in RO?"

Quoted from an anti-war protester is "There are other alternatives other than Jayrotsey."

A group that personifies the word "tool". Recruits strut around school acting like they're all badass and better than everyone else because of their uniform. However most of them (if not all) are pussies, so if you do indeed call them a tool to their face, don't expect them to do anything more than say something as original as "fag".
Hey look it's a group of JROTC! Fucking tools...

An organization that I, personally, think is completely worthless. I have learned many helpful skills from getting a job and going through life experiences. I don't have to wear a suit and carry a flag during Prep Rallies.
I was reading some JROTC definitions and I notice one thing in common with those supporting it: They all mention kicking someone's ass who doesn't support it. JROTC is teaching them VERY valuable life lessons. lol.
