Kids between the age of 13-22 who are full of themselves and feel superior because their music isn't mainstream and who will bash anything that's mainstream, even if it's something good. They tend to be arrogant and rude, and they think that they are just the coolest shit ever. They only listen to indie music and are hypocrites because while they bash the scene kids, they too all fall into a similar style by wearing tight jeans, faded colors, and converse. They also like short, dark hair for girls and longer hair for boys.

Indie-pop and indie are two majorly different things to them. Tell them that you like The Ting Tings or New Young Pony Club and they will laugh at you like the judgemental bastards that they are because that is not REAL indie you idiot.

They are way too caught up in music and it's their entire life. They will only be friends with you if you like their music, otherwise, no matter how friendly or funny or charming you are, they will hate you simply because of your subjective taste.

However, if you do manage to befriend an indie kid, it can be good because if they like you they will defend you to the death. They also can introduce you to lesser-known bands that will be forgotten in ten years and help you embrace the 'vintage' style of old plaid shirts and color palletes of gray and brown.

Mainly teenagers who all share a common love for the arts and music. They listen to many bands most people haven't heard of and tend to dress however they want, usually ruling out the rules of fashion. One may see these "indie kids" in a local coffee shop, art gallery, or thrift store. These people aren't "emo". They also tend to wear warm neutral tones as opposed to black. They are fairly reserved and tend to be open minded as well as opinionated.

The Teens who aren't mainstream, listen to Indie and Alternative music, no defining clothing or style, can be anyone and look like anything. Ranging from hippies to social outcasts. Most people have a very narrow-minded veiw on Indie Kids because they don't necesserily like their music so they tend to make generalised and insulting comments about their clothing and what they do.

Nerds but hot.

Someone independent in their thinking as to the eccentric perception of life in all ways. An outstanding person, set apart into it's own, defining it without conformity, but with it's own origination.

People usually associate Indie Kids with Hipsters and Scene Kids, but they're pretty different.

Indie Kids enjoy music put out by alternative rock bands and bands/artists who aren't signed to a major record label/no label at all. These can include bands such as: Bloc Party, Muse, Coldplay, Nirvana, Radiohead, Fleet Foxes, Franz Ferdinand, Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs, The Cure, The Black Keys and The Maccabees.

They also enjoy artwork similar to what you'd find on their

favourite band's album covers.

Their clothing can be described as vintage, old fashioned, messy and sometimes just, plain.

Indie Boys have woopy or curly/messy hair. They're usually are seen wearing band t-shirts or plain shirts and t-shirts. They also wear loose, black or blue denim jeans and converse/white Lonsdale trainers. The might also wear hats like Pete Doherty of The Libertines/Babyshambles.
Indie Girls usually have with long, wavy hair often wearing some form of headband. They are usually seen wearing either: loose t-shirts and waistcoats, baggy woolly jumpers or baggy crop tops with band logos or flamboyant patterns on them.
Indie boys are often seen as being shy and quiet.
Indie girls are often seen as shy at times, yet energetic at times.

Different individuals, dont try to be the same,very artsy peeps, never too full of ourselves, very friendly, very openminded to many things music, arts, clothing, etc. trendy with an edge different to other cliches, o and we dont try to be cool, we r different thats wat makes us unique but we r not wannabes
