Hot Topic is an online and real store. Anyone can shop there. Its not making a statment or being a rebel. I bought a few things from there because I like them. I'm not goth, I like what i like and don't know how to classify myself I usually listen to like emo, screamo, metal and rock. Hot topic was made by GAP! Don't categorize people who buy stuff there as goth and what not because I would not say i'm goth. It's got cool band t-shirts and not everything is that expensive, depending on when it came out.
Girl: Oh look at that guy coming out of Hot Topic, he is so goth, just look at all his bags.
Boy: Yeah I know
"Goth chick": Oh look at that girl, she only has a little bag ... What a poseur
"Goth Guy": I know eh, she just wishes she was like this
A store, which sells a lot of poser stuff. But they do sell some cool band t-shirts, and CDs. I like it, but they need to get rid of the fucking poser shit. As in things for the 11 yr old girls who think they are so punk/goth.
Keep the Misfits stuff.
Burn the Good Charlotte stuff.
A place that preppy "teeny" rich kids shop to steal fashion statements from a rocker image that exhisted long before they were born.
Didn't they use to make fun of us for wearing leather, spikes, and black about 5 years ago? My life is now being sold in the mall.
a store found in just about every mall. one that at one time used to be "scary", but then got popular. whatever, i cant say much because i used to shop there (in like, junio high). i just moved on to thrift stores after.
Middle-schooler with an anarchy patch on his backpack, all black converse, and the dickies witht the cell phone pockets: anarchy rocks!
me: you got that patch at hot topic didnt you, paid for it with federal dollars, and put it on your backpack, which you carry to a government run school. yeah, good job.
the genious that invented it prolly made a lot of money- however, he made me emberassed to listen to slipknot.
He also killed the punk-goth scene and slowly bringing the hXc scene down as well.
watch in 3 years, the 12 year olds are gonna start wearing tight pants and hxc band shirts. their already selling Remembering Never shirts!
baggy pants- 50 dollars
slipknot shirt- 16 dollars
choker- 15 dollars
bracelets- 20 dollars
looking like a complete idiot and putting an end to the gothic culture. priceless
The dark hole in which one can buy jingling pants for too much.
However, also home to at least five witty tees.
"look at my massive, jingling bondage pants! I got them at Hot Topic for only $80!!"
store where poser goth/punk "music-loving" rich kids shop. if you like music you spend ur money on concert tickets, not an effing $20 t-shirt.
wanna see some REAL anti-conformist punk kids? they are the ones walking out of hot topic with a shitload of stolen merchandise.
A diverse store that has Metal T-Shirts, Nirvana memorabilia, gay pride stickers, clothes w/ sharp stuff sticking out of them, and weird little characters like Happy Bunny and Eve L.
Also frequented by 12-ish year old females that like to express themselves by wearing net-sleeved shirts, black jelly bracelets, and put Happy Bunny patches on their backbacks. Pretty much everyone at my school wears something from there.
Me: Why are you shopping at Hot Topic?
Rebellious Teenage Girl: To piss off my upstanding, Christian parents.
