The antonym of "Indian Summer": the last surprise phase of winter, often accompanied by a freeze or snowfall. Usually takes place after the first bloom of spring flowers. I was about to wax the skis and pack away the gear, but Groundhog Winter hit bringing 10 inches of fresh and we're getting a bonus weekend out on the mountain.
