Greebo: from my experience greebo's are a usually friendly people, wearing an assortment of black clothing, often being mixed up with goths and metal heads but lacking in the metalhead brashness and the goths usual shy personality. Wearing an assortment of accessories such as metal chains, baggy black jeans usually from "soho" shops, occasional tattoos resembling things associated with death, grim occasions, morbid characters etc, spiky wrist bands and occasionally metal rings and with black or dark hair, Greebos also have the stereotype of having greasy or unwashed hair, coinciding with the theory that they do not wash. They also wear dull coloured clothes whilst lacking any vibrance.
Many of the greebos i have met have been clean and well mannered, yet i would have to admit that most are unhygenic and lacking in any self respect for cleanliness.Although with any social "group" i try to keep an open mind, Greebos dissapoint me in their many links to the scene and emo groups. Casual sex and complete disregard for partners and proper relationship seem to end up with most greebos becoming depressive and obsessive, possibly because of their ways they became greebos or because of the like minded people they surround themselves with.
Greebos seem to listen to all sorts of Rock music, mainly heavy metal, Screamo metal and death metal but also emo music and pop emo. This means bands such as My Chemical Romance, Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium and Arch Enemy but they seem to branching out into bands such as Enter Shikari with the blend of trance and metal. Music is a main interest with Greebos, and defines them,as with most other social groups. Concert going and hanging around in usual surrounding such as parks, town statues and landmarks listening to music on loud stereos is a common theme in greebo life also.
Some greebos associate themselves with emos, punks and some skaters, forming an alliance and socialising through their interests, eg music, sex and hobbies, such as skating, circus activities and poetry.
Greebos are also associated with self harm, and as i mentioned before depression, another key link to "emos".
On the whole, Greebos are a caring, friendly group, creative and well meaning, yet lacking in much moral fibre and standards, in respect to relationships they appear whoreish and thoughtless.
"hey look, some greebos, be careful cos theyre a little dirty and slightly imposing but they seem to have written a mildly entertainin yet depressing song."

see: grunger, metal, punk, goth, skateboarder, alternative

Generic term to classify and insult anyone who either enjoy's 'extreme sports', rock music, metal music, alternative music, goth music, industrial music etc...

Stereotypical 'Greebo' would listen to Nu-Metal and wear loose fitting jeans.

Term is generally used by a Towny as an insult. Stereotypical Towny would listen to Garage music and wear branded sportswear - prefferably Nike Reebok or Adidas, Reebok Classic Training shoes, Baseball cap - either navy blue or white.

A greebo is somone who is proud to be different from everyone else, people say that they are like that because they have no friends or are always trying to kill them selves, but that's not true. Greebos are peace makers who don't want to start fights because they know it won't help anything. Too many people judge greebos by what they look like, which isn't fair, it's what is on the inside that counts.

I am a greebo, and I'm proud of it, if someone makes fun of me for being who I am I don't care.
Walk around for less than two minutes and get dirty looks from anyone who doesn't like people who are different. (Greebos rule!)

The term Greebo originates from 1950s bikers who had greased back hair hence "greebo". Many people use the word "Greebo" in reference to teenagers who listen to rock bands and dress in a manner which distances themselves from the masses. Chavs/trendies/townies etc have been fighting with greebos since the legendary "mods and rockers". Today, we see two subcultures opposing each other, Chavs and Greebos. While chavs have a tendency to be on the less academic side, a large portion of greebos continue on through further education. This is mainly due to the class divide. It has been noted by numerous sociological sources that Chavs are predominantly working class; while "Greebos" are predominantly middle class.
Chavs should be nice to greebos because one day they'll be working for one!

He is a greebo.

A member of the alternative scene, a 'greebo' can neither be classified as a 'skater', a 'spooky kid' (those little guys in KoRn hoodies and black eyeliner), a 'goth' or an 'indie kid'. Very often they fall between, wearing anything from baggies to funky hats to army shirts.

The term 'greebo' is used to describe an alternative person of such a nature by 'trendies' as a derrogatory insult.
Ehhh Gary laaaa... look a' that greebo over there!

an overused word, where it has a different meaning wherever you go. According to someone i know, greebo is another word to describe a punk up north.
Or if you happen to live in the evesham area, anyone that doesn't tuck their trouser bottoms into their socks ¬_¬ i got called it recently, i don't necessarily agree but neither do i disagree with them. I'm just a general music lover that favours a particular style of dress, and i just so happened to be wearing my beloved tramp hat at the time (that may have had something to do with it). maayybee

I agree with whoever posted the definition about how anyone in their 30's now was really a true "greebo" though, they got it right there
me: *strolls down the street*
random: hey, look at that girl wearing nothing but black and grey, chains and a stupid hat, she must be trying to be rebellious and different!
me: err...you talking about me?
random: greeeebo! grubby greeebo
me: what? i'm not
random: then what are you?
me: i am a person whose just walking down the road
random: but but you gotta be a greebo! just look at the dark colours, baggy clothes, wooly hat, chains...you have long hair!
me: yes...yes i do have long hair
random: you probably listen to korn
me: yeah and? for your information, i was just listening to ministry of sound five minutes ago
*gasps all round*
me: yeah that's right! i listen to dance! i also like drum n base, and britney spears as well as gizmachi, korn, cob and enslaved!
random: what...somethings wrong...my small fragile and shallow view of the universe is crashing down before my very eyes!

*a vortex appears, and the random is sucked into it*

becky: gee ellie, that's the fifth vortex this you've accidentally created this week, you oughtta stop scaring people like that
me: accidentally? er yeah...accidentally *shifty eyes*
becky: oh well, wanna get a coffee?
ellie: sure
