Similar to egocentric, or believing that oneself has influenced the course of a storm or waves for example, egoseismic is believing that one has influenced seismic activity. On the YouTube show Good Mythical Morning hosted by Rhett and Link, Link jokes that their move from North Carolina to California has caused earthquakes to stop occurring in California and start happening in North Carolina. Rhett then tells him that is called being egocentric, at which point Link corrects him saying that it would be called egoseismic.

An egoseismic person is someone who beleives that they are the cause of seismic activity (e.g. earthquakes) happening or not happening in the region they are in. Rob: Tim says that the reasons there haven't been any earthquakes in California since he moved there was because of him!
