An online association of older pencil & paper RPG fans, specifically fans of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, and other 1980's TSR games, and modern derivatives of such games. The website is somewhat notorious in the RPG community for many of it's members extreme dislike/hatred of the more recent editions of Dungeons and Dragons (3.x-4th) and it's current publishers Wizards of the Coast. It' also notorious for the many internet flame wars that have resulted from it's members rather conservative views on the game, and the debates over the current and older rules.
Sean: "Hey guys, is there any place I can go and get resources for 1st and 2nd edition AD&D?"

Rob: "Sure, go visit Dragonsfoot, it's the place where all the older fans assemble."

An online forum for fans of the pencil and paper RPG, focused on primarily 1st Ed AD&D(Advanced Dungeons & Dragons). There are also sections devoted to (in order of support) 2nd Ed AD&D(Advanced Dungeons & Dragons), Classic D&D(Basic D&D, B/X D&D, BECMI D&D and Rules Cyclopedia D&D) and OD&D(Original Dungeons & Dragons). OD&D the original roleplaying game published in 1974 is both tolerated and denigrated by the vocal majority of members. Strong supporters of OD&D and the original DIY vibe of D&D are harassed until they leave or until they are banned for defending themselves.

This forum is allegedly an old school forum; however, it is faux old school at best and new school at its worst. The vocal majority consistently oppose true old school gaming and denigrate those who support and advocate true old school gaming.

This forum is notorious in the RPG community for many of it's members extreme dislike/hatred of the more recent editions of Dungeons and Dragons (3.x-4th-5th) and it's current publishers Wizards of the Coast. It is also notorious for the many internet flame wars that have resulted from it's members liberal views on old school games, and the ignorant debates they generate with true old school gamers over the rules.
George, "Hey what is the largest faux old school D&D site on the internet?"

Bill: "Why that is easy, it the Dragonsfoot forums."

Dragonsfoot is an online association of fans of 1st Ed AD&D, the group as a whole look down on all other versions of D&D/AD&D(2nd ED AD&D, OD&D, Classic D&D). The website is notorious in the RPG community for many of it's members extreme dislike/hatred of the more recent editions of D&D (3.xE-4E-5E) and it's current publishers Wizards of the Coast.

This site claims to be old school, but the vast majority of its members reject the DIY origins of the game. A few members from K & K Alehouse can dictate the banning of members that they do not like. It is notorious for the many internet flame wars that have resulted from the majorities refusal to allow any views that deviate from the "ONE TRUE WAY TO PLAY" which is the anti-DIY view imported from Knights & Knaves Alehouse. This anti-DIY view is characterized by extreme hatred of Dave Arneson the primary creator and co-author of OD&D. This "ONE TRUE WAY TO PLAY" is BTB gaming(anti-DIY & anti-old school). They ban the most creative people from the site.

There is no "ONE TRUE WAY TO PLAY"; however, it should be noted that DIY is the original intended type of play for which the Original Dungeons & Dragons was designed to facilitate.

There is "ONE TRUE GAME" and that is the Original Dungeons & Dragons.

The truth and the facts can get you banned. It is a very unfriendly echo chamber and the only good thing is the huge amount of fan made gaming materials available for download.
Dragonsfoot is a great place to go to get free fan made gaming materials. It is not a good place to discuss real old school DIY gaming.

When you are walking barefoot on something painful (gravel, hot coals, broken glass, lego) and you curl your feet up like talons while flapping your arms and screeching to help accelerate you out of the danger zone.
I could have avoided this dragonsfoot if I'd remembered to wear shoes.
