"When a party feels at liberty to disobey not just a discovery request but two court orders compelling production of the same material in its control, weeks or months... pass without progress in the litigation... there is such thing as discovery karma." -Judge Neil M. Gorsuch

The good or bad luck which follows a litigator based on his or her use or abuse of discovery.
So I heard about an overly aggressive litigator who submitted 10,000 document requests to his opposing counsel. Several years later that same litigator has to appear in a bench trial and, surprise, the opposing counsel he once harassed in discovery is now the presiding Judge. Discovery karma comes through again!

Alternatively, he gets hit by a truck which was transporting the documents he requested. Now that is discovery karma.
