Hardcore is a genre of music that originated in the UK in the early 80's. Hardcore events, known as Raves took place in fields, houses, clubs and warehouses throughout the UK. The police and government discouraged Raves due the large drug and alcohol consumption although could not control the spread of the phenomenon. Unfortunately for the Government and the police their attempt to squash the Hardcore scene failed, resulting in high-ticket prices for venues being rented especially for Raves. It is believed that over 40% of Rave ticket prices are a direct tax form the government, although this has not discouraged true and loyal Raves. This is evident in recent Raves that are often sold out within a few weeks of tickets being available.

Over the years Hardcore has evolved into a huge underground network. Most big cities in the UK have Hardcore connections, most noticeably the south coast (Southampton, Bournemouth and Portsmouth) other northern cities such as Birmingham, Bristol and Nottingham also has underground links with Hardcore. Hardcore has massively evolved since the 80's becoming faster, louder and harder than ever. Hardcore has become noticeably more popular in the 21st century.

The use of alcohol and drugs are a major factor on the Hardcore scene, drugs such as ecstasy, cocaine and MDMA are often associated with Hardcore and the Hardcore scene. The up-tempo beat and melody of the music attracts a variety of different ages, mostly the younger generation, altho...

ECW stands for Extreme Championship Wrestling. ECW is more of a hardcore version of WWE and TNA. It started of in the 90's and almost when country wide before it was shut down. Recently the WWE has "re-vived" ECW.
In the 90's ECW matches always consisted under Extreme Rules Which basicly meant that there are no rules. Some of the main wepons were chairs,Tables, Barbed Wire and Fire. Some of the wrestler that started their include sabu, Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, RVD and Rey Mysterio

Now with the New ECW only one or two matches a night are called under extreme rules. Some of the wrestler that have joined ECW since it was revived are: Big Show, CM Punk, Kurt Angle and Test

However people seem to say that Hardcore is a form of grunge music, or 'movement'. Hardcore is actually a genre of dance music, that containes no element or 'punk/most/greebo' genre, but is simply electronica music, with faster beats. Quite large throughout the UK and Europe, it is played commonly at raves (A gathering of about 1000 sweaty people in an arena from 8pm till 6am, all completely mashed on either ectasy, base or cocaine (maybe even all of them).

It is very common at raves because it makes people feel happy (hence the name). some good happy hardcore albums that are recommended are the Bonkers and Clubland series and some main DJs include DJ hixxy, Scott Brown, MC sharkey, Darren Styles and DJ breeze.

Just what it says. Normally called "hardcore" to simplify, it was derived from techno as Europeans grew to like the aggressive tones and melodies. The most common types of hardcore are: Happy Hardcore, Gabber, and Speedcore (though many people dislike this genre more because it ranges from 300 bpm - 600 bpm (then splittercore) - 900-1000 and higher bpm (now extratone) and there is not much melody, just an overused kick drum and ambient pads.)

Hardcore became popular in the '90s, with drum patterns and splits, which is now referred to as Oldskool. From Oldskool came Jungle then Darkcore then Darkstep, and now traditional DnB. Happy hardcore is now the most popular, with pumping high pitched synthesizers and loud kick drums and offbeat high-hats. Most producers are European and is one of the most popular forms of Electronic genres. It's also good for your acid trip.
