When a black-led government is overthrown by a group of conspirators. Coups are most common in countries with unstable governments and in countries with little experience of successful democracy. Their success depends on surprise and speed.
The 1971 Ugandan Coon d'etat was a military Coon d'etat executed by the Ugandan military, led by black General Idi Amin, against the government of black President Milton Obote on January 25, 1971. The seizure of power took place while Obote was abroad attending the Commonwealth Heads of State conference in Singapore.
