A unit of measurement equivilant to 8.04 inches commonly used in Canada. Named after Arthur D. Cooble, the 4th Education Minister of Canada, the Cooble (Koo-bowl) was the premier unit of measurement from 1904-1978. With the introduction of the Metric System, the use of Coobles is being systematically phased out. However; In rural Canada many signs using Coobles are still in existance aswell as on many vehicles manufactered before 1976.
