A great concept band, with some moving lyrics and great riffs. Makes "Conecpt albums" like Pink Floyd
's The Wall and they remind me of Rush
Not only does there music tell a story, the lead singer, Claudio Sanchez, is writing an intricate graphic novel, revealing the story of Coheed and Cambria.
The members of Coheed and Cambria don't wish to be known as "That sweet emo band" or "that ace prog rock", they are just rockin out.
Synonym of: incredible
Andrew: Man, In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth is like the most Uber song.
Me: Yeah dude, Man your own jackhammer
Andrew: Man your battlestations
Me: You can't sing like Claudio Sanchez can.
Andrew: I know...
Often mislabeled as an "emo" band, Coheed and Cambria is actually a Progressive Rock band, with a sound similar to bands like Rush and Yes of the 1980s, with concept albums similar to Pink Floyd's The Wall. The idea of the giant story spanning all of their music, ie: the concept albums, is perhaps the most alluring aspect of their music.
Synopsis of the Coheed and Cambria storyline:
"There are differing theories about the story of Coheed and Cambria, but from the lyrics of the two albums and the beginning of the story spelled out in graphic novel #1, it is known that Coheed and Cambria Killgannon are a married couple living on Earth in the distant future.
The story is centered around a vast structure called the Keywork, a galactic force holding together 78 planetary systems. For some reason, part of the Keywork comes loose, threatening a cataclysmic disaster for the universe. Coheed and Cambria are "Guardians of the Keywork" and Coheed is sent to a distant planet to repair the damage. Apparently, Coheed is the only person capable of doing this.
Unfortunately, someone has injected a serum, called the 'Monstar virus,' into Coheed's body. Once activated, the Monstar leads to a disaster of apocolyptic proportions for mankind. However, the Monstar can only be activated by introducing a liquid called 'the ciache' into the host's bloodstream, and then making eye contact with the trigger counterpart (presumably, Cambria). Coheed has passed a form of the virus, known a...
Gives you goosebumps everytime you hear it
I hate it when people call Co&CA an emo band because they're not. You dont hear them singing about breaking up or how much they hate their parents do you? Their true musical genre is (deny if you want but it wont change the truth) Alternative metal,Indie pop/rock. So before you start talking shit about Coheed and Cambria, think to yourself- a million other people out there are dissing (badly) your favorite band as well.
If you hate Co&CA, you can blow me
incredible, incredible band. their sound cannot be matched.
In Keeping Secret Of Silent Earth: 3 needs to come out yesterday because i need my Coheed and Cambria fix.
One of the best bands ever! The lead singer has an incredibly high vocal range, which makes them unique.
To anyone that says they suck
"FUCK YOU, coheed and cambria rock!"
In reality this is a kick ass band with great musical talent and an equally great talent for writing. In a fictional world, Coheed and Cambria are husband and wife in a science fiction story written by the singer of the band Claudio Sanchez. The story revolves around Coheed transforming into the Monstar after being injected with a serum by a dragonfly, and the fate of the universe rests in his hands. Claudio wrote himself into the story as the last remaining child of 4, the other 3 were murdered by their parents Coheed and Cambria. Claudio is now The Crowing or a messiah like character. If you are still interested, the graphic novels written by Claudio tell the entire story.
