Easily the stupidest idea ever imagined in the history of the planet. Cash For Clunkers is just another failed attept to get the economy running again. A few of The rules that determine if your car is a Clunker are: Your car must be less than 25 years old, It must get at least 18 MPG and the car must be drivable. Once you turn over your perfectly good car-- I mean Clunker, you may get up to $4,500 off a newer, more fuel efficient car, like a Prius... for $20,000. What happens to your Clunker? The engine gets sold to China. Now isn't Cash for Clunkers just great?
Democratic politician: Cash For Clunkers will work! It makes total sense!
Because the 1st definition is completely false, I am forced to bring in the facts for this relatively simple concept.
Cash for clunkers was a program that allowed consumers to trade in their old "clunkers" for a 7500 dollar or more rebate for a newer, more fuel-efficient car. The car had to be MORE than 25 years old, had to have a mpg of LESS than 18 and the trade in had to be more fuel efficient. Because of Cash for clunkers, GM was saved. As a result of continuing profits, GM was able to pay back the government with interest way ahead of schedule.
This is one of the smartest decisions the government has made in recent history.
"With Cash For Clunkers, I was able to trade in my old pickup truck for a brand new toyota camry! Because of this, I can spend less money on gas and actually put food on the table"

When logged on to the car system, your computer is considered a federal computer system, and is the property of the US Government. Any or all uses of this system and all files on this system may be intercepted, monitored, recorded, copied, audited, inspected, and disclosed to authorized Cars, DOT, and Law Enforcement personell, as well as authorized officials of other agencies both domestic, and foreign." Jim: "This Cash for Clunkers program sounds really great. I need a new car and these people will give me a up to 4500$ on a new car"
*Jim goes onto cars.gov and gets into the program. Now, Jim's bank records, pictures, videos, emails are now fully available to these agencies. Jim's computer freedom is now completely tarnished, and anything that he does that seems suspicious, could cause his computer to be seized, and may even get him thrown in jail.
