a polite and empathic way of dealing with others, as characterised by courtesy, attention to detail, reverence, respect, and occasional awed crying at trivial aspects of a person or place. Brettiquette can be displayed in everything from chivalry at the workplace to sparkly-eyed delight at the history in someone's wrinkles. It is usually accompanied by wine and a glowing face.
'That girl's so thoughtful, she's really displayed a lot of Brettiquette today.'
'Better put this guy to bed, his Brettiquette's making him way too emotional.'
