adj.
Anything that is percieved as "upscale" from a blue-collar point of view. 'Bougie' (pronounced boo'-she) is a hacked truncation of the word Bourgeoisie, which refers to the middle-class in Europe, but refers to a more affluent class level in the United States. From Wikipedia.org: In the United States, which lacks strict social classes, Bourgeoisie is sometimes used to refer to those seen as being upper class. You can sit there and drink your bougie-ass microbrewed beer, but I still prefer my ice cold Coors original.
Did ya see Luthur just roll up in his bougie new BMW? You can eat your bougie $25.99 salad from Central Market for lunch, but I'm hangin' with Mikky D's! |

(as is confirmed by the dictionary definition from Merriam-Webster) "Are you guys talking about using a bougie? Well, when I was at Williams, we used to call 'em bouzshers!"
"I wandered into the sex shop, and there, this woman set me aside to explain to me how to use a bougie. And then I turned around and noticed my mom, who had been staring at me the whole time." |

(BOO-GEE) short for bourgeois (french origin meaning snotty sefl-contented middle and upper middle class), anyone pretentious and trying too hard to be classy. Includes all super-enlightened anarchists, Birkenstock-wearers, Abercrombie and Fitch addicts, and assholes who add random French phrases into their everyday conversation. Example-
Frank:Hey man watcha doing later? Walton III:Hmmm. Je ne sais pas. Peut-etre I will drink white wine out of a crystal glass embossed with my family crest and contemplate how lucky I am to have my secondary education. I will then watch an opera. In Italian. Frank: Sonnnnnn. You're so fuckin' BOUGIE. Later. |
