Banging my pants, also known as bmp is popular internet slang used in the 1960s. It's commonly replaced with lmao, lmfao, rofl and lol. This term was popularised on social media like 4chan, reddit, tumblr and facebook.
The first recorded time of bmp was when Lebron James said "I'm bmp'ing right now!" after lebron james' teammate made the infamous joke "What do you call a basketball that never misses. IT'S NOT A bASkEtBaLl!"
