1. Trenton
The Downriver community of Trenton was founded in 1834. It was then called Truaxton. In 1850, a new plat was recorded under the name of Trenton. It was again incorporated February 10, 1855. In 1929, a portion of Monguagon Township, called Sibley, was annexed to give Trenton it's present size. In 1957, Trenton became a city. Trenton sits to the west of Grosse Ile, to which it is connected by two bridges.

The history of ska music is interesting as since its birth ska has continued to develop into many different styles. In forty years ska has enjoyed three waves of popularity around the world. This essay attempts to trace ska music's history, the roots, the birth, the styles and, hopefully will offer you some interesting facts.

EARLY JAMAICAN CULTURE
To fully understand the origins of ska and trace its unique musical elements we must understand some important parts of Jamaican history. The island of Jamaica was first visited by Europeans in 1494 by Columbus. The British won the right to colonize and began shipping slaves from the west coast of Africa to work on newly set up plantations. By 1807 there were over two million Africans in Jamaica working on English plantations in the most brutal systems of slavery in the world.

The slaves tried hard to hold on to their African philosophy and established their own system of beliefs and values in their slave communities. Some forms of African music, such as the Burru were allowed by the white masters who believed it would help the slaves to work faster. At times the slave musicians were also called upon to entertain the white masters. The type of entertainment provided by the slave musicians followed a carnival tradition and allowed the oppressed performers to dress and act like kings, queens, lords and ladies for the amusement of the white masters. 6. DU
Commonly-used, abbreviated form of Delta Upsilon, the first non-secret fraternity, currently the world's only international non-secret, non-hazing fraternity. North America's fifth oldest fraternity, it was founded at Williams College, Mass in 1834.

It is also currently Canada's largest fraternity with 5 chapters. 7. Wodonga
Wodonga is town situated on the murray river. It is opposite to the superior town of Albury. Wodonga is well known through out Australia and the world as been the most undesirable place to live in the world. Wodonga has seven social classes which include emo, goth, bum, satnist, homersexual, inbreed and bogan/yobo. In 1834 Albury was created but a large amount of unsavory people moved into the area so it was decided another town would be built on the other side of the river. This town was called Wodonga which is the aboringal word for "I like it up the ass". In June 1834 after 2 hours of construction Wodonga was created all it was a single barb wire around a 5square km. The river added as a wall as all these bogans where unable to swim. During the 1930's the people of Albury felt sorry for the people of Wodonga who are known as Wondongs so a bridge was built from Albury to supply aid for the Wondongs. A simple barb wire gate on the bridge kept the people of of Wodonga out. By 2006 a new freeway was built which diverted Wodonga this freeway was built after there was a spate of car jackings by the people of Wodonga.
