Something that is maybe a bit annoying to most people but is very annoying or upsetting to a particular person.
Related to the word peeve meaning an annoyance or grievance, a pet peeve is something that a person has adopted(like a pet) to be extra annoying or upsetting to them. Like a pet, they pay a lot of attention to this peeve and may talk about it a lot and share funny pictures of it on the internet.

1.When people use the word "AK-47" but have no fucking idea who the Russian Sr. Kalashnikov is.
2. When one's earbuds become tangles up.
3. When people don't recycle or litter.
4. When people tip a pocket full of pennies.
5. When people in the streets wait until NO ONE is within sight to cross or turn on the road.
6. When someone uses a synedoche or connotation and someone doesn't understand it. "Hit the road" or "Hit it" The person literally hits the road. When someone literally swings from the chandelier.
7. When someone doesn't understand or comprehend sarcasm.
My pet peeve is when people a just plain stupid , dopey, undecisive and slow.
