District, Maryland and Virginia*. The area where everyone knows each other or at least follows them on ig (instagram). We hardly go to the national monuments, but always make fun of the tourists as we drive by. Transportation includes the Metro and Uber...food of choice is Chipotle and Chik-fil a. Some of us may of had the privilege to meet President Obama, but we all see him helicopter over our schools during recess. Everyone talks about how good their football or lacrosse team is but no one across the bridge understands why soccer is a spring sport in VA....we have our own slang and act like we are from the streets, but most of us live in the suburbs.

A nickname for the Washington Metropolitan Area.
If you don't live in the following areas:
Washington DC, Prince George's County MD, Montgomery County MD, Alexandria VA, Arlington County VA, Fairfax County VA, then YOU ARE NOT from the DMV.
On a good day, a Waldorf (Charles County MD) native MIGHT be able to get away with saying they're from the DMV.
Living in Virginia or Maryland alone DOES NOT make you a DMV native. I don't know who needs to hear this, but Baltimore and Richmond ARE NOT in the DMV.
The easiest rule of thumb in determining if you're in the DMV is simple: If WMATA operates there. Buses AND Trains.
