A day that everyone plans but which never happens.

The day is usually said to involve excessive amounts of alcohol and gay porn, though the alcohol is optional.

Though often limited to one gender, this isn't always the case.

Happy or jovial. An alternative spelling of "gay" to differnentiate it from the more modern definitions (see gay)

The guilt that comes up (especially around Christmas, etc, but also between Birthdays) where one feels that they must buy someone a gift because that person bought THEM a gift.

This is often despite the person's insistence that "Oh, you don't need to get me anything :)", which usually just increases guilt.

Trying your hardest to be or appear dumb, whether intentionally or unintentionally.

A straight man. Pronounced HETroman (no noticeable gap between "hetero" and "man")

1. acronym for "i reaLy can't think Of anything eLse to say", often used in online forums and chat.
2. acronym for "Laughing Out Loud", also used in online forums and chat (archaic).

Intention is signalled by how it is written:
a. lol = yeah, I'm bored
b. lol... = this is awkward...
c. lol! = that's amusing
d. LOL = that's very amusing; but I still didn't laugh
e. LOL! = not only was that amusing, but I might have actually LAUGHED OUT LOUD

The term has generally been replacd with "haha" to indicate that you found it amusing, as "lol" is often seen as dismissive.
