troll (Internet slang)
I. Noun (plural, trolls)
1. A person who posts to annoy, irritate or generally be off topic.
2. Traditionally used as in deploying benign harassment for the purposes of indoctrinating a noob into a message board by establishing the group norms through contrast.
3. In the modern sense, it has come to be synonymous with "a*shole."
II. Verb ('Net slang "to troll")
to offer up bogus statements meant to provoke a fight online
