A dance which is open to any year nine or ten students (year nines are high school freshmen) at all-girl schools in Christchurch, and year nine or ten female students at St Andrew's College (STAC) and any for year nines and ten Christchurch Boy's High students. The tickets for these are very highly in demand since this is probably the biggest meeting place for potential boyfriends/girlfriends. Because of the high temperature in the gym where they are held, girls wear very little clothing, but yet guys manage to wear jeans and hoodies and not overheat. Weird. The dances are highly sexually charged occasions, with most of the participants having very low standards of privacy and/or hygiene- don't go near any of the walls, and always wear socks. Some other high schools hold them but they're not as good.
NB- The year 11, 12 and 13 (year 13 is the last year before university) 'supervisors' think nothing of hooking up with an innocent year nines. Be careful.
Girl 1: Omg, Tom hooked up with someone else at the boy's high dance!
Girl 2: Well, what do you expect? You know how those slutside hookers dress!
Girls who attend Christchurch Girl's High School. The students there are commonly known as margarine legs, but also as the hottest girls in Christchurch. Some say you actually have to pass an attractiveness test to get in, and others that the out-of-zone students accepted purely on aesthetics. Whatever the truth is, everyoe knows that girl's high girls party, dance and kiss like no other. Very highly sought after at CBHS and Christ College (syrups) dances. You pretty much only have to say she goes/went to girl's high for it to be assumed that she's (at the very least) fuckable.
Boy 1: Hey, did you hook up with anybody at the dance?
Boy 2: Yup. She's a girl's high girl
Boy 1: Shot bro! (followed by much congratulations from any surrounding males)
A derogatory nickname given to students who attend Christ's College in Christchurch. Allegedly, this is because the senior students in the school's hostel made the younger boys lick syrup off their dicks as some sort of initiation. This name calling, along with Christ College's repeated domination of secondary-school rugby in Christchurch, has lead to friction between students at Christ's College and students at Christchurch Boy's High School. Added to that, most girl's high girls prefer boy's high boys, which has lead to resentment and aforementioned girl's high girls pitting the boys against eachother, for example "That last boy's high dance was even worse than a syrups one! Shame!".
Boy from Christ's College: F*ck off you soggy weetbix!
Boy from Christchurch Boy's High: At least I'm not a f*cking syrup!
A term commonly used to describe students at Christchurch Girls' High School, it is a play on words, meaning that girl's high girls are easy - margarine is easy to spread, as (apparently) are girl's high girls's legs
Boy from CBHS: Damn, where's she from? She's hot! And I think she's looking at me...
Girl from AGHS: Ah, CGHS. Why do they always steal our guys?
Boy 2: Um, cos they're hotter than you?
Girl from AGHS: No, because they're margarine legs, that's why!
