This is the idea that nothing is ever really 'absolute' in the universe, and that things are destined to become 'obsolete.'

It is used to reference cynical ideology preventing progress and growth.
It was once thought impossible to fill a gigabyte of data...

Space travel is impossible...

The world was flat...

These ideas are now absolete because they were considered to be solid fact and yet were proved otherwise.
