Montgomery is safely nestled 10 miles from the crime meccas of Middletown, NY (to the southwest) and Newburgh, NY (to the east) and is located exactly 54.9 miles northwest of Midtown Manhattan. The village is bordered to the north and west by the Wallkill River, a tributary of the Hudson River.
